Residence Options

City High School offers two housing options for our students: Home-stay and Campus One. Both options are as unique as the school itself. Designed to ensure that all participating students feel at home, our housing options have been carefully developed to make students feel welcome, safe, and comfortable while providing a unique immersive experience into Canadian culture and society. By providing housing options for students, it allows them to focus on their studies without worrying about ­­­­­­the stresses of finding suitable accommodations.

Campus One Residence

Campus One is a student residence affiliated with the University of Toronto. It is a diverse student residence that attracts both international and domestic students. Live in the heart of downtown Toronto and experience everything Toronto has to offer. Located just steps away from the University of Toronto, Campus One has everything a student would need. There are multiple types of accommodations that suit every need, as well as Campus One had a variety of meal plans for students. The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and Campus One provides 24/7 security for residents.

Homestay Program

 

Here at City High School, we have carefully matched each home-stay family with each individual student in mind, thus ensuring a wonderful educational and social experience. Our host families are individually selected and screened through a vigorous process to ensure that the happiness, physical, and emotional welfare of the student is a top priority. In addition to providing a safe, warm, friendly physical living environment, our host families also serve to provide both emotional and academic support.

 

Our home-stay program provides international students with the opportunity to live with a caring and friendly Canadian family in a safe and comfortable living environment. Home-stay students will have the ability to live, learn, and experience the very best of Canadian culture and values in warm and friendly living conditions. Our home-stay program ensures students’ happiness and well-being is taken care of with the utmost attention, this allowing them to focus on their studies and extra-curriculars.

Student can expect to have their own rooms located within reasonable travel distance to City High School’s main campus.

Refund Policy

 

City High School reserves the right to provide refunds on tuition fees only in cases where a study permit has been denied by the Canadian Immigration Authorities. A refund will be issued after school officials receive the following documents:

 

  • A signed letter from the student requesting the refund

  • An original letter of acceptance from City High School

  • An original receipt of the tuition fee issued by City High School

  • An original rejection letter from the Canadian Embassy

 

Please note:

 

The student or his or her legal guardian must apply for a tuition fee or advanced payment refund up to three months from the date the rejected letter has been issued, or up to six months from the date of the letter of acceptance has been issued.

 

The application fee is non-refundable.

Why do you need health insurance?

Unfortunately, accidents can happen at any time, and trying to figure out how to pay for them can be stressful and costly. With health insurance, students will not have to worry about the heavy burden that can be medical expenses. Students are required to obtain health insurance in case of accidents or medical emergencies. If students do not have health insurance then they will be personally responsible for paying medical bills, which could have a costly impact on their personal finances.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this insurance a person must :

  1. Inbound (Foreign) Student

  2. Under the age of 69

Cost and Payment

The cost of the medical insurance is covered in the City High School tuition fees. It will be paid at the same time as the tuition fees are paid. The cost is $700.00 for the entire school year.

Application

 

Scholarships

City High School is proud to be able to offer our tops students an entrance and graduation scholarships. We understand how hard our students work and they deserve to be rewarded for their dedication and drive.

The two scholarships we offer are the City High School Entrance Scholarship and the U of T Alumni Student Scholarship.

To be eligible for the scholarships, students must:

  • Currently Enrolled at City High School

  • Currently be in high academic standing (to be determined by the scholarship board)

  • Have submitted and completed the appropriate paperwork before the specified dates.

City High School Entrance Scholarship:

Assesses past academic achievements and extra-curricular involvement and achievements.

 

Amount: $1000- $3000

 

U of T Alumni Student Scholarship:

Is an academic based scholarship dependent two criteria: that the student is attending the University of Toronto, and that the student graduates with a Grade 12 GPA of 85% or higher.

 

Amount: $1000-$2000
